What happens if I change a habit’s settings?

How edits affect streaks and data.

When you edit a habit, here’s what happens:


  • Changing completion goals (e.g., from 1/day → 3/day):

    • You’ll be asked if changes should apply to all past completions or only moving forward.

    • If applied to the past, old completions may reset if they don’t meet the new goal.

  • Changing frequency type (daily → weekly → monthly):

    • All historical data is removed because the habit structure changes.

⚠️ Example: If you had a streak for working out Mon-Wed-Fri, but you switch to Tue-Thu, the old streak will reset.
